The Peerless Girls
Another first for Peerless
In 1904 and 1905 Peerless used pin up girls in their ads. These were beautiful young ladies similar to the Gibson Girls of the time and were called “The Peerless Girls”. The artist was S. Crosby B and were copy- righted by the Peerless Motor Car Company. There were eleven different girls used between 1904 and 1905 and were modeled to catch the attention of the men of those times. Peerless Girl number three is even a little racy, she has a deep neck line and is showing her ankle. I know that this doesn’t seem like much compared to today’s pin up girls but in 1904 is was risqué.
You could receive a photogravure of “The Peerless Girl”, size 18 x 29 inches without advertising by mailing in 10 cents, stamp or coin, to the Peerless Motor Car Company.
There were other females used in Peerless ads after 1905 but these eleven were the only ones called “The Peerless Girls”.
